Fellow - Fire Debris Analysis

Fire debris analysts examine debris recovered from scenes of fires in order to detect residues of accelerants that may have been used as accelerants to enhance the rate of spread, temperature or ignition of a fire. They use gas chromatography and mass spectrometry to identify the presence of gasoline, solvents or other flammable liquids that ma be present in debris recovered from the scene of a fire.
